THIS IS SKIING!!!

Yesterday we got up early and drove about 40mi out to Holimont in Ellicottville, NY. Dad's friend Mary Claire is not just a glamorous schoolteacher, marathoner and all-around great person; she's also a ski instructor. So what could we say when she invited the Robinson boys out to Holimont to visit her at "work"? We had to say YES.

On the drive out we got our energy up listening to a little Marley in the car, so by the time we met up with MC, Raul was well ready to hit the slopes. We rented some skis and then took a shuttle bus over to the "magic carpet" area, where MC gave the Jewel a private lesson in the basics: the pizza, the "V" duck walk...and, um, that was about it. Soon enough Raul was shushing all day long!

Dad had to drag him away for lunch, and after pb&h sandwiches he was back at it!

At the end of the day he even went to the top of a bigger hill with MC in the "chairlifter"!

Mom says as soon as they get back to Seattle they'll go skiing in Vancouver! Let's make it happen!

Here's video and pics for everyone out there in Mundo Raul.

LIL SNAPPY

With Raul in Brooklyn of course we hit the barbershop for the cris ceasar cut. Small man then took the opportunity to shoot some pics on his own. Dunno why he switched the aspect ratio to the 16:9 setting but ok, well done sir. Now that i think about it, there's been a bit of the photography bug in his family on both sides...it's about time for him to get his own camera!
