ULTIMA NOCHE EN LA TIERRA

Last night was the Jewel's last day in his hometown of NYC, we spent some time downtown testing umbrellas for Seattle and looking at freshmarket crabs in Chinatown. Typical stuff maybe. What would you do on your last night in town?

"POPPIN THE WATERPLUG/ JUST FOR OLD TIMES SAKE"

Tonight on the way home we found an open fire hydrant—after weeks of waiting!

Of course Raul's shoes got wet.

BABY BALLER

NB Raul the Jewel changed his swin trunks halfway through the afternoon. Apparently getting dressed for the beach all by himself he kept on his Bob the Builder underwear and was dismayed to find them soaked after an hour or so in the water.

SOME CASTLES, MADE OF SAND

Shout out to Gabriella and Joseph from Brooklyn who helped us with some serious digging today.

HANGIENDO

Like thousands of other people, Raul and Dad went to the Lauryn Hill show in our old neighborhood of Lefferts Gardens last night. And like thousands of other people, we didn't get in. It was packed out! Plus hot and humid and we crashed on the scooter on the way over.

As we were leaving Raul said, I'm a little bit sad we didn't get into the concert, and you are too, Dad. But tomorrow we'll be happy.

I didn't know how to tell him, we don't live for tomorrow. And so we went to our old pizza parlor (as Raul calls pizzerias) and got a couple of ice cream cones.

...WE'RE BACK

...And we're at the beach. Everybody say hi to Tanti Mitch!
